How do you maintain the nicer lined helmets versus say the unlined Troxels  with the little removal pads.  Do you put it in the sun or what?

They make little baggies that you can put in your helmet that help with odor and sweat.. Not exactly sure how it works, or if it even works, just seen the products..
Also they make pads/liners to put in your helmet to absorb sweat but as with most horsey stuff they can be pricey- I know people who use maxi-pads.. :p

For as wet as my brow and hair get there isn't any odor yet.  I bet there's some specially treated cloth inside it.  It just occurred to me to toss out the question to see what everyone does.  You know, a few minutes with a hair dryer should speed up the drying, or just some sun rays.  One thing I would not do is put it back in the box when damp.  I save everything and most likely have the tag to it if I looked.  When I find it I'll post what Intl says to do.  In the mean time I think I'll go make it wet.   Smiley

Good question about helmets. You say that yours seems to have some specially treated lining.  Interesting, in a different post you comment that "Tide" detergent has carcinogenic ingredients and is probably manufactured in China ( where else?).  God knows what is in that lining.  Not trying to get at you, just linking two different posts. I too, am very concerned about the origin and safety of products we use every day without thought ( or any choice ).
If any one does have any advice on de-odourizing helmets I would love to hear.

Probably most of us just hang them up and let them air dry.  It was so humid and overcast the other day I sat mine in front of a small fan for a bit.  Its anybodies guess what kind of treated fabrics they may have built in them.
Its such a blessing to have sweaty helmets instead of unused ones.  With the heat of summer coming I hope I can hold up and continue to use that helmet as much as possible.

The dishwasher works great, just wash and air dry,
the bags...do NOT waste your money, they do not work!
