my 23 yo grey Arabian mare has Melanomas under her tail.  I was lucky to find a wonderful home for her, but I am concerned about additional Melanomas , particularly internal...and will her new 'Momma' be aware of symptoms. My biggest concern is that my horse should not suffer. Would you give me info too. She has been super girthy for a number of years... but is chunky and I never thought of internal Melanomas.  thanks

It has been my research that Melanoma in horses is rarely cancerous, unlike in humans. I always use Oil of Oregano on the ones under the tail.  My vet has my horse on Tagement which seems to delay the growth of the internal mass.  What makes me nervous is the mass can get larger and wrap around other organs inside.  I am ordering in bulk, the wild crafted oregano and will add to her feed twice a day-same oregano as the oil. Evidently you can give the Oil of Oregano orally - dosages I have no clue.  In my girl's case it looks like the gut mass is causing some leg and spine issues-like she is "bunched up" - I will have my chiropractor/acupuncturer get on it. There are no funds for surgery.  I may consult a chinese (eastern) medical vet if none of this works. I am confidant with my current vet.  Good luck. Oh and there are no symptoms-my horse's mass is in the back gut and protrudes through the rib a bit. I'm figure it out and she will be healed.

By the way, the Oil of Oregano applied from the tincture every day-makes those tumors disappear with a couple of week. Get the one from Whole Foods.
