horse lease

Just curious what the average rate for lease is.  Horse would stay at my place.

All leases are subject to negotiation but the general rule of thumb is a yearly lease is 1/3 of the purchase price.  Then you negotiate insurance, refunds, medical care, trainers, board, etc.

Is there a set standard for a free lease?

No, but make sure you take into consideration who is responsible for injury, illness, general care, blacksmith, entries, commissions if sold, death and disposal, liability of damages to other people, etc.  And once discussed, have it in writing!
