So, they "broke ground" on May 20th.  Two months ago.  The same 3 piles of dirt they created that day have not been disturbed since!  Does anyone know why the grounds are not being built?  What are they waiting for?  Their first show date is in November, and that will be here before you know it!

I spoke with Michael Stone last evening and he said the ground work will continue this week.  They had made some improvements to their plans and they had to go for approval with Wellington.

The November show is scheduled to go at the PBIEC show grounds and there will be night classes in the International Ring Under the lights .... Which is such a great venue to showcase dressage.

The first shows scheduled for the new grounds are in February.  ..... I do not know the schedule but thought you would like the update ...

In order to have recognized shows, they have to have dates from the USEF.  They have dates for

Nov 30-Dec4
Feb 2-5
Mar 15-18

as per the USEF web site.

Having everything in tents is a far cry from what they have told us they want to do with that venue.  No wonder they aren't constructing anything!  I think it might take a year longer than their very ambitious timetable to have a world class venue in place.  Bummer.

Regardless ....there will be a world class venue for dressage in Wellington which there has not been.  Nothing happens over night.  The main show grounds is several years in the making and it is just now getting finished ...but what an improvement and asset it is to all of us.
