I live there - ha ha!!
Fantastic is seeing all the stars because of so few city lights!!
The iguanas, fox, possums, cranes, etc. Not to mention gators & wild pig.
Love the quiet.
Vinceremos
And to see all the horses we still have in the area and not so many For Sale signs as other places!!
Love Palm Beach Gardens but having my horses in my backyard is the BEST!!

Road dust, speeding cars, more road dust, the sounds of trucks rattling cars in the c at least 4 times a year in front of my place, loud obnoxious bands, dirt bikes...road dust...speeding cars..nightmare to live here been here over 30 years...nothing has changed just dirt and more dust to breath too many non ag folks ruining the horse farms....birds screeching from aviaries out of control...and dont forget the road dust...cough cough wheres the water truck...speeding cars who dont care about the dust clouds in their rear view mirror just speeding and reckless disregard....mismanaged town now incorporated over 3 years still no code enforcement...delay delay delay nothing is ever going to change out here...when will the State come in and save us from ourselves...not in my lifetime Im afraid. Loxahatchee Groves is a horrible place to make your home unless youre an outlaw... then its heaven.

Agreed on that.. but then you can choose to see the good or you can choose to see the bad.... it's all in the outlook of life... try living in Boca Raton for 16 years and see how you compare....

The last 10 years here Im desperating trying to get out, cant give the place away, cough cough, not rich enough to just walk away. I guess I should have taken poster sized pictures of the horse that a driver killed right in front of my place....said he saw the horse standing in the middle of the road with a rider on its back but he thought the horse would move out of the way instead of letting itself be hit by the car...ever see a horse standing with only 3 legs...I did on B road...not pretty...you ride your horse on any road in Loxahatchee you should have your head examined. Its bearly safe enough to haul your horses in a trailer on these roads...ever see how the road dust gets ed right into the back of the trailer...I cant imagine the number of respiratory problems the animals out here have...you have a chronic cougher...maybe they have road dust in thier lungs...incase you havent noticed they have big nostrils s it all in....speeding to your nursery or riding lessons or dropping the kids off at school remember all the animals you are choking when you see that dust cloud in your rear view mirror...the folks that live out here only care about the little patch of dirt they own...they dont give a hoot about the horse on the other side of the hedge that are just trying to live in peace.
I think the Red Barn should come up with a muzzle type gas mask for the horses and cows out here...maybe if they all wore them people would slow down to look at the funny site and stop kicking up dust....cough cough...

I have one other wonderful thing to say about Loxahatchee Groves...I have a 15 foot hedge along 750ft of B Road (catches road dust, cough cough)...if any of you are wondering why it looks so unkept...some speeder flying down the B road while I was up in the bucket trimming the hedge...on my own property..smashed into the front engine of the truck and wrecked it...then took off..of course I couldnt get a license number,,,too much road dust see that...When I can finally get the money to get the thing fixed and get the hedge looking pretty again I am going to call for police protection, and ask the TOWN to close the road whille I trim the hedge....I bet i get whacked again !!!!
Dont forget the meeting this tues.Nov 16 I guess the bird folks are pushing to make bird noise a meaningless aggravation that should be given special exemption from nosie limits...hahahaha. I love and respect Dr Club she taken care of my birds and my lizards...just so you know that !!
Thats great if you dont mind 400 screaming parrots moving in within a hundred feet of you house.
This town is crazy NUTS !!!!

Im just telling it like it is. Loxahatchee Groves has lower taxes so if you are in Welly World, or Deer Run and have a beautiful farm go out and kiss your code enforcement officer and know you are getting your monies worth paying higher taxes....out in Lox Groves we are a community that has gone in circles like a dog chasing its tail....that should have been the town's logo...not the poor turtle in the landscapers soup !!!

Well the Town of Loxahatchee Groves is within 6 months of maybe being able to start enforceing some codes...this will be a blessing if it dosent take too many years to do away with all the violations. Maybe if they enforce the housing requirements there will be fewer cars on the roads thus less dust. There are so many trailer parks out here, feed dealers, heavy equipment operators...this Town might become a really nice place to have a small farm....they also approved a measure that would help pay for the LGWCD to grade another 16 miles of dirt roads that arent even owned by the district...I guess that means more bumps for some and less for some new folks....my suggestion the money could be better spent putting the water truck out there on the Weekends would benifit more folks...no response on that suggestion.
It is useless but amusing going to the town meetings out here....the bird folks actually convinced the board that they are no different than sheep farmers...lets hope an aviary never decides to set up shop next to your peaceful quiet place...they have ag rights now...I also heard some parrot folks shoot and kill the native hawks that annoy thier birds...real bird lovers that bunch. I wondered where they all went..I thought it was only the fish farmers that killed native birds...guess I was wrong on that !!!!
Gotta go to work before the dust gets so thick I cant breath

Gotta back up miss m on a lot of points. There are many good things about Loxahatchee but there is definately room for much improvement. The road maintenance and speeding is terrible hence the dust storms. I've almost been hit by cars on my horse because of no visibility caused by dust from passing cars. Unfortunately many don't slow down for horses or pedestrians. I have barely been able to see the children walking on D rd to and from the bus in clouds of dust. What about their lungs? Hopefully it wont take a child or someone on their bike getting hit to make some changes. I like Loxahatchee but certainly don't love these things about it. Another issue, what's with the gates they put up on the maintenance roads so we have even fewer safe places to ride? ie: North road. Hopefully we will see changes soon. What about the paved roads and trails that were supposed to be done? If they cant maintain the roads maybe it would help improving them.

The gates on the c roads are put up by the landowners who own the easements...god forbid they should share that easement with anyone other than LGWCD . The LGWCD put a horse trail down F road now thier mowers rip out the bottom of the wire mess fence they put up and they wont maintain the fences they ruin...10 ft wide horse trail is for only the safest horses anyway they should have known that before they spent our taxmoney catering to the folks on F Road...I would have rather they put in $60,000. on some ogem on a real dirt road. The LGWCD Board does not want any roads improved they would not have much to do if it wasnt for all that grading...they make a full time job out of takimg care of our roads not drainage thats takes a back seat to roads...they are a special district that needs to be dissolved and the new Town needs to take over...they could do it at half the price and not have 2 boards and 2 managers cancelling each other out....maybe in another 10 years they will combine but in the mean time....the dog continues to chase its tail....arf....cough cough !!!
Happy Thanksgiving ...4 days without the water truck will make it very special....cough cough !!!!

Some of my favorite things about Loxahatchee are:
seeing the stars at night when I go out to check on the horses much lower real estate prices and taxes a live and let live attitude (I don't want to be told that I can't park my dually or horse trailer on my own property!) some really nice neighbors seeing riders go by on a nice evening gorgeous sunsets space much less traffic peace lack of government regulations most people want to keep it as rural as possible I'm sure I could think of some more....

I like your comment about the lack of Government regulations...you have that right... as long as Callery Judge is holding this lawsuit over our heads its do what you want out here...if the codes they wasted 2 years putting together ever get enforced this town might be nice for all its residents and not just the ones who live tucked away off the main roads.
Did you get a chance to trail ride by the SUV 2 Sundays ago that flipped upside down into Collecting c...tragic...that story is far from over.
That same weekend there was a car dangling over a concrete bridge on B road at night....it took awhile but they didnt get the free car wash and no one was killed.

Ingrid, you are the best! I love Loxahatchee Groves! We have fantastic neighbors. Room to move, relaxed acreage for the horses. The more of us that put positive energy into it the better it will be. Soooooooo if you do not LOVE Loxahatchee Groves why suffer? Go somewhere else and leave it to those of us that embrace what is special about it.

...Im positive I will be gone soon...Im positive if more of you positively happy horsemen dont start going to the meetings and stop the nonsense that is being forced on you by the new town council and the LGWCD you are going to be positively miserable !!
Pretty soon a carousel is all you'll be able to ride out here...I have a giant outside row jumper staring at me as I type...best horse I own !!!!
Watch out for that bandito on C road whose packing heat !!! Positive spin on gunfire...my horses dont spook at fireworks...
On a happier note....Saturdays nights are the nights we all get our Spanish lessons...very loudly played music we can all sing and dance and be positively joyfull till the wee hours of the morning while our houses vibrate to the beat we watch our horses tapping thier hooves dreaming they are Paso Finos !!!!
Peace.....arent you glad Im back !!!!

I love my place...I was working my horse this morning on my half mile track with my head phones on rocking to Lady Gaga while the mares going 5 miles at a nice slow clip...it was beautiful...the horse was happy, I was thinking not too many places left where I could do this....without any one around to bother us...just me and my critters.
I think I have the nicest piece of land in the Groves to keep horses.....I have fought hard to keep it nice and I will keep trying to improve the place.

We'll always have manure in the Groves because we have lots of nurseries that are allowed to compost ... The Dragon Fruit growers use manure to vertilize their plants as well as many others, no large mountains.. years ago, there was a big issue with one particular nursery, but that's long over with.. good news... Town Council on behalf of the residence has put regulations to eliminate "simple dumping" of manure... one day at a time with a number of issued, but progress in the right direction.

At the 2800 block of B road a non resident land owner has had over 50 loads of manuer put on his front 5 acres in the last 10 days...he says he needs it to rasie his lands elevation...the trucks are coming in daily...the Town can do nothing but tell him to stop. The flies are an absolute nightmare...millions of them...its a nightmare.
My horses are suffering the neighbors bordering the property are living a nightmare...the smell is unbearable and its only Feb wait till spring.
This is the disaster of the incorporation of the town...because of a non sensical lawsuit being held over the Towns head we have no REAL code enforcement...but the folks who put this town on the map are the ones who wanted to Love it and Leave it Alone...well they got thier wish.
Palm Beach County needs to help us resisdents out Santamaria isnt getting the message...the Town Council is a paper tiger.
This manuer problem and its side effects will be blamed on our local farms when it is actually Wellingtons mess being dumped out here. Happy horsemen you need to go to the county not the Town to stop the nonsense out here...one voice isnt enough

Oh my I would contact the local water control district (Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District) because I'm sure the storm water run off from that property won't pass muster with them and they may be able to pursue their own violations and fines against the property owner.
