I'd also like to know what kind of hay.  I can take straight timothy.  No T & A since my horse has allergies to the alfalfa.
Weight & price per bale delivered?
Thanks D.

I am certainly not complaining. The only time I stress is when you arent back with hay Smiley as it the nicest I have bought.   This hasnt been an issue.
This last 3 string was by far the nicest- with the perfect balance - "maybe" 10% alfalfa- just enough that they woof it down and not enough to make um sick in this heat.  My horses are leaving their grain for it. I believe this is the hay that I got first from you in January. PLEASE keep it coming!!!!
Also of note- I store a LOT OF HAY at one time ( 40 -50 bales at a time)  for only 3 horses and none of my hay has EVER turned n color and I have NOT HAD ONE SINGLE BALE MOLD - even in this heat. I -like many others  live on a tight budget- and supporting  my 3 horses are like paying 3 college tuitions- however I will sacriice a few things for piece of mind and not having a  vet bill for colic from moldy, musty hay.
Thank you Rob- for bringing down really nice "fresh" hay, and driving to 4 corners of the earth to get it! You DO know how to pick hay!
I know I sound like a "cheerleader" - however I am picky about my hay and I am willing to pay the price for consistently gorgeous hay. Those who know me- also know that I dont hand out compliments - so here is one for you Rob-  Thank you for bringing down nice "fresh" hay!

Oh Hi Rob-  just saw you post AFTER I wrote mine- from your last post.   hope all is well with the new baby!!
I will take 10 more bales or however many you can help me cram in that room-  of the 3 string that you delivered a couple of weeks ago. Do you still have that?  If not- when is your next load?Huh  I had been traveling and my friend who took care of them told me that my horses literally were rude and moved her out of the way to get to the new stuff! I saw that at nightcheck last night last night myself.  When we  popped that 3 string bale that stuff came off so soft and nice. ALso- from your post-  I am very aware that you spend time specifically picking the hay you bring- and thanks for that- it is evident- and you are right- some do not do this,  they just "fill the truck"
Have a great day

I love this website for so many reasons!
I just bought 10 bails of this lovely 3 strand and YES they are really nice. my only problem is that the horses eat it up so fast..lol. Consistancy is SO important and from what I hear this is what I will get every time.
thanks Rob and the people who post!

Thanks Rob. You definately have my business as I have now switched my whole barn over to your hay. The price is perfect and I am saving money:)

You have been nothing but fair to me and as one other said- you also came to my house even with the semi back from January and re-stacked my entire hay room and stacked those huge 3 string bales all by yourself and wouldnt even take a tip!!!!!  I too am in sales and can understand the frustration too- and your plate "personally" has been quite full! Smiley
Have a great day! AND SELL SOME HAY- WOULD YA!!!!!!

Ive found that in most cases the three stings are like 2 bales of hay in one.  Sometimes more, sometimes less, but usually its like 2 for me.

I  was skeptical - but found the same thing.  I also like that I can pull it apart and feed amounts I want to feed instead of an entire flake. It goes a long way.  I flipped out at first as it "appears" higher priced per bale but with this last load one bale equalled about 2 1/2 or 3 in some cases for me.  My horses need the alfalfa so I bought a bale of that and sprinkle it in the soft timothy- and have a nice T&A mix.

I buy from Rob and would tell everyone I know to use him for the hay and shavings!  I like having the Timothy and using Alfalfa cubes to supplement.

I spoke to Rob several times last week to confirm my order.  He even answered the phone the day after he was suppose to deliver and acted like he couldn't hear me (bull). Needless to say for the holiday weekend I had no hay. He stood me up. I spoke to Jeny on this website, her nextdoor neighbor got hay from him on the day I was suppose to - he told me the bales were 3-string which equaled 3 bales and about 100 lbs. Jeny weighed the delivery and it was 87 lbs, not 100. It seems  he is a one-man band with good hay but customer service and his word s!  First and last time I will trust an independant hay dealer for sure.  Glad you all got your hay.  My retirees had no hay until Tuesday.  He told me to give him two days notice - I did.  That didn't help at all! BOO you!

You have poor business practice, hopefully you will figure that out!  This is the 2nd time no call/no show!  Good thing I still had plenty of hay and don't rely on you!

I'm Jeny. We have seven horses in our barn. I also train at another privately owned barn with 40 stalls.

Robby. I personally do not buy your hay because the price per pound is to high. Two women at the barn bought your hay. They also bought your bagged shavings.
We three share the same barn, same hay room. We talk, we compare, we feed.
I used a deer carcus weight scale. I weighed four out of the 8 bales you delivered. One bought timothy/ alfalfa, $33 per bale. Her and I both agreed it was 80% alfalfa with timothy. It did contain some orchard seed buds. It weighed in at 87 lbs.. The other bought 3 string timothy weighed in at 75 lbs. $33 per bale. Granted, you did give one of the women who bought the timothy two free bales. I can understand why. She mentioned she was concerned a couple of the bales of 3 string you delivered were last years cuttings or not quite the quality she wanted. One looked like coastal. You have told me ( at one time ) and them that the bales weighed 100 lbs. When I originally came to look at your hay in person, you told me they weighed 120. I told you I didnt think they did, you said I did not know my own strength. At age 51, 30 years as a professional in the horse business as well as selling and buying hay. I know my own strength. But I did not have a scale with me at that time. When I got one I used it on your hay, as I do on all hay I buy.
I feed per pound to horses. I buy per pound. Some people dont. The two women changed and got a delivery of hay from Gold Coast two days ago.

You keep changing prices and selling weight. As well as get upset if someone does not agree with what you are telling them. You and I were talking business. I choose not to buy.
You do have nice hay I will give you that. But in my humble opinion it is not always what you say it is. I understand your position in business. Be a bit a  more honest and consistant.  There is a lot of good hay out there in our area. Price per pound comes down. You deliver on time. I will buy.
Happy riding!

jeny i dont need to argue with you like i said you dont even buy hay from me nor would i even want an ungrateful customer i can tell now no one can make you happy i dont go around telling everyone your a horrible trainer because i dont know how you train im always nice to you when i see you when i deliver you dont like my hay or my prices thats your right please stop bad mouthing me and get your facts straight  i try my best to make my customers happy every person i deliver to i deliver them every week you know why its because the hay is great and so is my customer service its just a proven fact that not everyone will be happy  thats life i can only do what i can do i didnt even want to reply to these comments you have made but i cant just sit back and get kicked in the teeth why are you even writing anything in my post if you personally dont buy a flake of hay from me spend your time and energy some where else thanks rob oh and happy riding

I just bought the 2 string today and its gorgeous and the bales are huge. End on end- they are almost as tall as I am.  For the quality of hay that Rob brings and the fact I have NEVER had a bad bale =even in this heat - its the nicest hay around right now. I have seen some really ugly hay in the last week with  low prices- and my thought is -  you get what you pay for=  however- I choose to pay a bit more for mine to have quality hay. I have not seen the size bales that Rob has anywhere else under his price.  If it is- its 1 or 2 dollars - not much.  I dont personally weigh mine. I just want nice quality safe hay that isnt going to mold on me. Thats what is important to me. Yet everyone is different.

I have purchased hay from you and agree that is is quality hay and my horses loved it.  However, although you promised that you were reliable you were not.  It has been since May that I spoke with you and you promised a delivery and you let me down and caused problems for me at a time when I had to go out of town.  Everyone can have unexpected things happen; all you had to do was call and let me know and I would have made other arrangements so that my stable caregivers were not left with an empty hay room.

I have been getting hay delivered....on a timely basis from ROBBIE and it is the best hay we have seen in a long time! Our horses are very particular and will leave their grain to eat this hay! Sometimes it varies, but we understand that Robbie only SELLS that hay...he isn't responsible for bailing it and it is very hard to determine exactly how much each bale weighs. We have purchased hay from almost every dealer and store around Wellington over the years...have seen the moldy nasty hay they will sell you and have had a serious colic and surgery as a result of bad hay. It is worth it to us to have consistant good clean hay...not to have to pull it apart and look for moldy clumps....and also pick hay out of the stall after the horses use it as a toilet...they really tell you when it's bad.Since feeding Robbie's hay, our horses have all put on weight, we have cut their grain and we are happy to pay his prices...we don't have time to weigh each bale and complain about one being lighter than the next. If one was heavier...would you offer to pay more? He shows up when he says he will and has been over faced lately with a newborn baby...so cut him a little slack...he really cares what he sells and takes pride in what he does...unlike soooooo many people we have bought from, and then given it all to Lion Country or to people who have cows. Robbie...keep doing your best and to Jeny.....if you don't like it...you are entitled to your opinion..but get off his blog as you have said enough and you are getting redundant. Sounds like it's personal, so get to your "riding" and have a lovely day!
