General Classified / Classified / 2 cats need a home- posting for a friend
|
on: February 28, 2013, 12:57:35 AM
|
|
Have a friend that has two cats that she has had as kittens. Brother and sister named Storm and Sunkist. They are just 2 years old, neutered/spayed, front declawed, UTD on shots. She has a special needs daughter that is highly allergic and they sadly can no longer keep the cats. Her daughter has been dealing with the allergies with shots and medications to avoid giving up the cats as they are loving sweet family pets. She went to Safe harbor today to see if they could take them and she was turned away- they would not take them as they are currently full. She does not want to take them to animal control for fear they will be put down if not adopted. They get along with dogs as well. She would prefer them to go to a home together. They might make good barn cats- they do still have back claws. Pictures available. Please contact Alisa at gator94@bellsouth.net. Thanks

Chuck just did some work for me. He was professional, always on time, reasonably priced and he did a great job. I had a manure bin built and also driveway gate columns. My manure bin is so nice that I almost feel guilty putting manure in it. LOL. Give Chuck a call- Highly recommended!

Hubby is quite capable but I've been waiting years! Time to hire someone! Looking for any recommendations on manure bin builder. Also what is the usual size- small private farm with 3 horses. And recommendations on manure removal services? I've heard most charge 100-115 a load but depends on size of truck? Thx!

Sad to say my experiences there have not been great either. I've been there four times now with my kids. I keep thinking it will be better once they get their act together so we kept giving them another shot but each time it was worse than before. I had been for lunch during the week and on a busy weekend but the first few times there was not even a line and we still had to wait forever for the food. And it was just so-so food and pricey to boot. The yogurt is good and I would go back for that only. I saw two couples complain and one lady actually asked the manager for her money back and left- she did wait way longer than I did for her egg salad sandwich and bag of chips- really, how long does that take? One visit they made our food order twice- lack of communication between the ten people behind the counter- and then they just threw out all that food that was extra. I hate to say it but I think they are not gonna make it unless they figure things out- and quick.

Wellington/Equestrian News / Wellington/Equestrian News / Re: PBCMP HUNTER & PLEASURE SHOW GROWING PAINS - SUGGESTIONS
|
on: March 06, 2012, 12:11:22 AM
|
|
I think what 8belles said about the announcements was true. One show I was so nervous then I heard the announcer say "riders walk" but it was the Pleasure ring so of course I walked when the others in my ring were still trotting-Not good. LOL! So it might be confusing with three rings going but I guess that could happen anywhere. As for using another ring I still get upset every time I go to the show and see that big beautiful covered arena not being used. I live here and pay taxes that built that arena yet I am not allowed to use it, My taxes pay the salaries of the maintenace workers who work hard to keep the facility as beautiful as it is. It is just a shame that we cannot use it especailly now that we are haivng growing pains. The county would rather get zero dollars than a few hunderd bucks or whatever the fee is that Posse pays? That is absurd. I heard years ago that the sale from the old Posse grounds helped build that facility as well. Is that the case? if so that is a shame that we cannot use it unless we pay that amount. It is a public park to be used by the public. I am ranting now hahah- sorry. it just rally bugs me. But good to hear that the show is growing- that is a good problem to have!

I second Dr Leon Gerard. He and his staff are wonderful. I've had my teeth whitened by him, had a root c as well and did not feel a thing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, a couteous and the office/equipment is all state of the art and very clean. I am not sure about pricing either becasue quite honestly I do not really look at the prices. They accept my insurance and I am happy wiht the services provide and recommend him to all my friends.

I also just used Ann Schneeberger and she picked up my blankets, wasehd them all, reparied a few as well and dropped them off at my place all nice and folded and bundled together all for an extremely reasonable place. For a busy working horsey Mom with literally no time and did not want to ruin my washing machine Ann was the way to go. Will definitely use here againand highly recommend her service!

I had a great time and cannot wait to go to the next show! maybe next time I won't be so nervous and we'll place better. I did get some great feedback from the judge on my horse and what we need to work on but you are right 8belles, it is just someone's opinion. It is just a schooling show and it is a great experince for people such as myself trying to become a better rider and getting myself and my horse out and about away from home. I have met so many nice people as well. It is such a nice atmosphere and I always look forward to our show weekends. I am happy that is is held at such a beautiful facility and run by such wonderful people. The stalls are beautiful, the facility is well maintained and the prices are certainly reasonable. We do all spend quite a bit of time and money for a 15cent ribbon! but it is all worth it! Looking forward to the next show!!!

I have had ATT for over 17 years and although probably more expensive I have never lost service or dropped calls. Hubby switched his phone and my daughter's to Sprint to try and save a buck and the service where we are (out in Fox Trail by Lion Country) is terrible. It is frustrating and he is trying to get me to switch. No way! Cannot get calls in the house, calls are dropped all the time, signal goes in and out while talking. Supposedly they are claiming that they will have more towers out here?? not sure- maybe that is hubby telling me to switch and just making up stories LOL but I love my Iphone and ATT has not failed me yet.

Hi- I ahve used Wellington Bounce house for the last several years and had a good experience. They even threw in a free snow-cone maker for one of the parties since I was a repeat customer. They were very timely and easy to work with. Don't have the number handy but it can be found online.

He is the one in my picture. I have had that same profile picture since I signed on years ago! He has always had a special place in my heart and I always wanted him back and glad that he is finally home and safe and I am happy to know there are so many kind and caring people that would go that far out of their way to help a fellow horse owner/neighbor. Of course I relayed the story to the previous owners and they were not terribly surprised- he had jumped out a few times from their paddocks!

Hi that was my Gelding that broke out! His name is Callaghan and he just arrived from Chicago on Friday- my birthday. I used to own him 4 yrs ago and then bought him back as the owners are getting out of the horse biz. He has competed at WEF and has been jumped over 4ft with ease so I imagine without a rider on him my fence was no challenge. I did not know he escaped until I went to the paddock to grab him for our first ride! You can imagine the panic as my heart sank. Within minutes and after several frantic phone calls a neighbor saw a sign on a tree in front of her house. We called and found out he was safe. I cried when I saw all the cuts and bumps but this wonderful kind person, Sharron, doctored him up, put him in a stall and took care of him like her own. I found out later that she had walked him over 2 miles!! to her house after finding him roaming the neighborhood. Sometimes I am truly amazed by the kindness of strangers. I am forever grateful. Thank you Sharron.

General Horse Information / Horse Information / Re: Hours for grand Prix feed?

thak you everyone! Yes, I did look on the Seminole website and they say that County Line on 441 in Boynton sells it but I called and they do not. Too bad because I work in Boca and pass it on my way home. I did manage to call and place my order at Grand Prix and they were kind enough to leave my feed outside around back and hubby picked it up. I understand not wanting to work both days on the weekends but for the working horse owners it can be difficult to say the least. Wellington's Edge is open 7-7 7 days a week and I do pick up stuff there but they do not carry Seminole feeds. I would consider switching back to my old feeds but my horses have never looked better so I am trying to do what is best for them no matter how inconvenient for me! LOL They are all on a 32% protein feed called Equalizer mixed with oats- if anyone was curious. They are all building up muscle and gaining weight - even my 30yr old who has been retired for years and was really started to show her age. Thanks for the info. everyone! I love this board.

Does anyone know what time they open during the week? They are the only place that carries the feed I recently switched too. I work late and cannot get there by 5:30 close. Does anyone know any other Seminole feed dealer in the Wellington area? I have not found anyone else. Thx
